Regarding the application of recycled rubber products - especially the laying of elastic mats, e.g. the eximSafe Lock Paving Mat, some basic guidelines have to be taken into consideration to have sustained joy guaranteed. Take a look - for easy application and perfect results!

Generally it should be said that the industry standard of deformation tolerance for moulded rubber products is 2.15%. In order to avoid any misfittings this is what should be done:

1. Before installing the mats, allow them to “breathe”. One should know that usually the mats are being stacked onto the pallets right after taking them out of the moulds, which means that the material is still warm and partially working when being prepared for dispatch. In order for the mats, similar to timber, to adopt to the climate at the place of destination, they should be laid lose on the construction site - ideally for about 24 hours before installation.

2. It is important to always lay elastic mats from inside out – this allows the installer to cut the mats on the outer areas to whatever the requirements are.

3. Where mats don´t interlock, cut the mats so that they will fit. Should the cutting leave any unwanted spaces, simply use red PU (polyurethane) binder to fill the gap.
Taking these basic guidelines into account you will experience sustained joy with the broad range of elastic rubber products.
