End Uses With A Difference

end_uses_with_a_differenceHow many things could you make from a used tyre? If you’re thinking of a safety wall around a race track or boat and pier protection then you’re living in the past. This article will explore the extensive range of the more unique products that people have made from the once useless commodity.

Many of the more bizarre uses for old tyres come from less developed countries where necessity is their motivation. For example, in Thailand they convert used tyres into waste bins. In Morocco one entrepreneur chose to create a range of containers using the tyre in its raw form, plus a little inspiration! Other common uses of untreated tyres include flip-flops, children’s swings, and even household furniture.

It is not just the outer tyre that is being recycled in distinctive ways, the inner tube is also finding its way into mouse mats, bottle openers and car mats. Further recycling of these materials is finding its way into technical products such as a kayak spraydeck as pictured.
