Different factors have to be considered for drawing a comprehensive and general valuation of injury risks regarding natural as well as artificial turf. On the homepage of the planning agency G. & L. Hoppe a wide ranging summary of statistical analysis regarding specific case studies as well as the survey of technical data – p.e. disassembly of power, standard forming – just like the medical themes abrasion and exhalation of artificial covering are included in Jürgen Hoppes fact-finding.
According to current state of knowledge there can´t be verified a lower safeness of modern artifical turf pitches with regard to natural ones. In Hoppe´s opinion it is unlikely that future will proof a significant higher risk of injury when playing on artificial turf.
