The Slovakian Recycling Fund is a key element in the system of waste disposal.. It is a non-state organization aimed at gathering funds to cover the costs of collection, recovery and recycling of certain wastes.

The funds task is to collect the Recycling fee from each of the producers and importers of new tyres and to redistribute the funds to approved projects for collection and processing technologies.

Every producer or importer to the Slovak Republic has to pay the Recycling fee of 8,20Sk (0,24€) to be free of liability for amount of tyres. For the years 2003-2006 the Recycling Fund directly supported projects, under which more than 230.000 tons of waste were recycled.
